A Simple, Fun Activity for Toddlers
Is your child getting bored with the same old games at home? Here’s a super simple and fun DIY activity that will keep them entertained while developing essential skills.
What You’ll Need:
- 6 strips of colorful card paper (about 8 inches wide)
- Bright pom poms
- Tape
How to Set It Up:
-
Create the Arches:
Tape both ends of each card strip to the floor, creating small arches. Feel free to place the arches in different spots around the room before securing them. This variation will make the activity more engaging as your toddler moves from arch to arch. -
Start the Game:
Show your child how to roll or push the pom poms through the arches. Encourage them to crawl or walk after the pom poms, which helps improve their gross motor skills and hand-eye coordination. -
Challenge Their Skills:
Once they get the hang of it, you can make it a bit more challenging by asking them to aim for specific arches or see how fast they can roll a pom pom through all of them. This adds a level of excitement and keeps the activity fresh.
The Benefits of This Activity
This activity helps develop hand-eye coordination and gross motor skills while providing a fun and interactive way for your child to explore movement. It’s easy to set up, engages your toddler in physical play, and helps develop essential motor skills.
